Leaving a Legacy

Families' House can only provide support to local families through the generous donations caring people give to us and leave to us through their wills. Once you are happy that your family and friends have been taken care of, we hope that you will feel inspired to leave a legacy towards the continuation of the support we give to vulnerable families. We promise that your legacy will be spent wisely and make a genuine difference to the people we help.
You could give the gift of family in your will
Every child deserves to know who their family members are, but some children have lost contact with their father, mother, siblings or grandparents through a difficult family breakup. Families' House works to restore these relationships, ensuring the safety of all concerned, and building sustainable relationships so these can be maintained and developed into the future.
You could give the gift of friendship in your will
Not every parent has someone to call upon when times are difficult, but Families' House offers this friendship through trained volunteers. These special people offer regular and honest friendship which can help families restore their faith in other people and themselves, and get their lives back on track.
You could give the gift of a new beginning in your will
For families who are struggling with issues such as debt, learning difficulties, isolation and children with special needs, Families' House can provide workers to target the areas of need so that difficulties are resolved. Families can then provide a more secure future for themselves and their children.
How a gift in your will can help
£80 can pay for a child to see their father for the first time through supervised contact.
£1,000 can provide a volunteer to support a family for six months.
£3,500 could provide a worker to help resolve specific difficulties for six families.
How to leave a legacy to Families' House
You can leave a specific sum of money or an item such as jewellery or a piece of art. You can also leave a share in, or all of, what's left of your estate after all bills have been paid and all other legacies have been distributed.
If you already have a will, it's quick and simple to include a gift to Families' House. You won't need to rewrite your will; a qualified solicitor can draft an amendment (called a codicil) for a minimum cost.
